Oldest climbing kiln rebuild at Tanba

The oldest climbing kiln was rebuilt and open to the public at the home village of Tanba-Yaki on November 21, 2015. It is 47 meter long with 9 firing chambers which need 4 days to complete firing. The kiln is called as “Snake Kiln because it has lower height in comparison with the normal climbing kiln and it looks like a snake crawling along the hill.
Our expectation to see interesting pottery, especially sake cups fired in the kiln is extremely high.
